About ClearCopies
ClearCopies is an independent cloud-file review service for OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox. It is built to separate evidence about identical bytes from the human decision about which copy should remain.
The initial provider connection can inventory metadata and thumbnails, but it cannot rename, move or trash files.
Exact groups require matching byte counts and comparable provider fingerprints. Names alone are never proof.
Users see paths, sharing context and keeper choices before any separate payment or write-consent step.
Cloud drives can hold hundreds of thousands of files, while native interfaces rarely provide a complete, review-oriented view of byte-identical copies. Downloading an entire drive to run a desktop comparison can be slow, expensive and unnecessary when the provider already exposes useful file metadata.
ClearCopies uses those provider signals conservatively. It does not claim that the newest file is always the keeper, or that similar names make two files interchangeable. Location, sharing, ownership and workflow still matter.
