Data deletion
Users can delete scan metadata from each scan page. Deleting a drive removes its stored tokens, all run history, and related scan data; Google and Dropbox authorization is also revoked at the provider. Provider and browser login sessions remain open.
Completed scan metadata expires automatically 30 days after the scan finishes.
Delete your account
You can delete your whole ClearCopies account yourself, from the website or from the ClearCopies app for iOS, Android and Windows. No request form or waiting period is involved.
- Sign in at clearcopies.com/login with the one-time link we email you.
- Open Settings → Profile → Delete account.
- Type your account email to confirm. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
What is deleted: your profile (email, name), connected drives and their stored authorization tokens, every scan and its duplicate metadata, cleanup records, referral rewards, email preferences and sign-in tokens. Google Drive and Dropbox authorization is revoked at the provider; Microsoft does not offer token revocation, so we delete the stored tokens and you can additionally remove ClearCopies under your Microsoft account's app permissions. Your files in the cloud are never touched.
What is kept: payment receipts stay with our payment processor (Stripe) for as long as tax and accounting law requires, and anonymous aggregate usage counters that cannot be linked back to you.
If you can no longer sign in (for example you lost access to your mailbox), email support@clearcopies.com from any address you control and mention the email you used with ClearCopies. We verify ownership and delete the account within 30 days.
